It was a carnival of some sort at Mbiaya, Uruan Local Government Area, as the people celebrated Akwa Ibom State 33rd anniversary with the unveiling of a newly rehabilitated Mimi-water project for the community.
The water project which was rehabilitated by the Special Assistant to Governor on Projects Monitoring, Mr. Ifiok Akpabio in partnership with Usoro Akpabio Educational Foundation (UAEF) was officially unveiled to celebrate Akwa Ibom 33rd anniversary at the grassroots.
According to Mr. Ifiok Akpabio, the project became necessary to ease the source of getting free water in the Village, and giving back to his Community as part of his ‘Community Developmental Projects’. The project hence is the third one, having being preceded by road gradings and installation of street lights.
He sincerely appreciated HE Governor Udom Emmanuel for creating this opportunity through reappointing him as Special Assistant on Projects Monitoring, which helped him to contribute towards developing his community by providing basic social amenities that adds value to lives.
He also appreciated Usoro Akpabio Educational Foundation (UAEF), a foremost World Class NGO for always partnering with him for the successful completion of different projects, and appealed to members of the community to protect the facility, make judicious use of the water.
Mr. Akpabio intimated the People of Mbiaya Uruan on his further plans to again partner with UAEF to embark on free medical outreach in the Health Centre Mbiaya Uruan, to save lives, insisting that these measures are solely to give back the community as much as possible.
Presenting a goodwill message, the political leader of Northern Uruan, Engr. Offiong Usen Akpabio appreciated Mr. Ifiok Akpabio for the love he has for the community and for bringing dividends of democracy to improve lives.
Others who extolled Mr. Ifiok Akpabio for embarking on life touching projects in his community include, the Ward leader of Northern Uruan Ward 1, Barr. Usenobong Akpabio, former Chairman and SSA to the Gov on Grassroots Mobilization Mr. Tony Akan, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Microfinance & Enterprise Development, Mr. Ime Uwah and the Clan Head of Northern Uruan, Chief Peter J. Effiong among others.
Other projects executed by Mr. Ifiok Akpabio included grading of Mbiaya Uruan roads, provision of street lights for security and personal empowerments to the youths and women of Mbiaya.
